At Anchor to Life, I’m privileged to work with strong, resilient women navigating life’s transitions—and Mary is the perfect example of what’s possible when you combine curiosity, consistency, and compassion. Her journey is one many women will recognize: navigating menopause symptoms, like hot flashes and sleep disruptions, while also working to build core strength through Pilates and confidence after years of joint issues.
And spoiler alert: she’s crushing it!
From Nutrition Support to Pilates Strength Through Menopause
Mary first came to Anchor to Life for nutrition coaching. We worked on fueling her body to support energy, reduce inflammation, and manage menopause-related symptoms. But as we talked more, her interest in movement grew.
In December 2024, Mary decided to give Pilates a try.
With a personal history that includes a hip dislocation, arthritis, spinal stenosis, and knee pain, she could’ve let those limitations hold her back. Instead, she showed up for every session with determination—and now Pilates is a regular part of her week.
Progress You Can Feel (and Measure)
Mary now does Pilates once a week, and it’s been a total game changer—not just for her joints, but also for her sleep quality, menopause management, and strength training at her local gym.
We’ve been focusing on:
• Core strength for women over 50, tailored to support joint health and spinal stability
• Gentle, intentional movement to promote recovery and better sleep
• Breath-centered strategies to help regulate menopause symptoms like hot flashes and stress
• Improved alignment and confidence for lifting weights and moving well in daily life
🎥 In the video below, you’ll see Mary working on core control and dynamic stabilization using the Konnector system—a tool that offers a whole-body experience unlike anything else in the studio.
The Konnector challenges coordination, reveals imbalances, and helps retrain the body through mindful, connected movement. It’s Pilates with a twist—both literally and figuratively.
This kind of work not only builds strength—it teaches the body how to move better, not just harder.
