Spring represents a time to re-invent yourself

Spring is here, and with it comes a sense of renewal.

After months of laying down roots in winter, nature finally reveals its energy outward—delicate blooms pushing through the soil, a reminder that growth happens even when we can’t see it.

January has long passed, and with it, the enthusiasm of New Year’s resolutions may have faded. But who says you can’t pick them back up? Spring offers a fresh start—a chance to recommit, realign, and get back on that proverbial horse.

The 5-Second Rule & The Power of 5-Minute Action

5 seconds to 5 minutes

Lately, I’ve been diving into The 5 Second Rule by Mel Robbins, and it has completely changed the way I approach action and motivation. The idea is simple: when you feel the instinct to act on a goal, you count down—5, 4, 3, 2, 1—then physically move before your brain talks you out of it.

Why does this work? Because in those few seconds, our minds naturally default to hesitation, fear, or excuses. But when we interrupt that pattern with decisive action, we build momentum.

Now, let’s take it one step further. Once you use the 5-Second Rule to move, commit to a 5-minute action.

• If your goal is to get stronger, do 5 minutes of movement.

• If you want to eat healthier, spend 5 minutes prepping something nourishing.

• If your goal is mindfulness, take 5 minutes to breathe or journal.

These micro-actions add up, and more importantly, they get you started.

Is Your Goal Still the Right Goal?

Before you jump back into a resolution, take a moment to ask yourself:

• Does this goal still align with my values?

• Is it something I truly want, or was it something I thought I should do?

• Would I be excited or relieved to reach this goal?

If your answer is “yes,” great—use the 5-second rule and a 5-minute action to start today. If your goal no longer feels right, give yourself permission to pivot. Growth is about aligning with what truly matters, not just checking off a box.

A Celebration of Life

Livestream in Remembrance of Don Wolf

In my last newsletter, I shared that we were traveling to St. Louis to celebrate the life of Don Wolf. Don’s wife, Lynn, is determined to raise awareness about glioblastoma, the aggressive cancer he battled. I want to honor that mission and help in any way I can.

This brings me to something close to my heart: this Saturday, March 29th, from 12:00–12:45 PM, I’ll be hosting a Charity Livestream Class, with all proceeds donated to the Siteman Cancer Center. Cancer has touched all of us in some way—whether through a loved one, a friend, or personal experience. This class is my way of giving back, and I’d love for you to join me. Let’s move together in celebration of life, resilience, and community.

Spring Forward

This whole newsletter feels like a words-of-wisdom moment. I’m not diving into the usual Pilates or nutrition topics because, right now, I just want to remind you: life is happening right now—don’t wait to start living it.

Take the walk. Light the candle. Soak in the bath. Sit in silence. Call a friend. Hug a loved one (or, heck, a complete stranger—though maybe give them a heads-up first).

The world can feel divided, but what if we focused more on lifting each other up? What if we leaned into connection instead of isolation? This spring, let’s choose to come together, to celebrate life, and to anchor to what truly matters.
