STRENGTH

As we age, muscle loss becomes a reality. From the age of 40 onwards, studies reveal an annual decline of 8% to 10% in muscle mass per decade, resulting in a potential loss of 20% by age 60! This matters because our ability to live the life we desire depends on our strength to combat gravity, move with ease, and maintain balance and posture. Research consistently links strength with longevity.

BALANCE

Balance plays a crucial role in maintaining your posture and mobility. It relies on the harmonious coordination of various systems within our body. Unfortunately, as we age, this coordination can be compromised when our inner ear and muscle joint awareness systems no longer function optimally. While our bodies strive to compensate for these weaknesses, it is worth considering how long these adaptations can be sustained.

No one wants to imagine themselves hunched over in old age. Unfortunately, many of us fail to recognize the signs or take action to reverse misalignment and prevent further curvature before it becomes irreversible. However, it's important to know that with dedicated effort, realignment is possible! Your posture is a reflection of various factors, such as tightness, weakness, strength imbalances, and dysfunctional movement patterns that have developed over time.

               I met Amanda during the beginning of the pandemic!  Our sessions are on Zoom.  Her expertise was so apparent to me from the beginning!  Her education in physical therapy and her patience and challenging exercises are so much fun for me!  Truthfully, I also enjoy the laughter that comes from the entire experience!  She has the knowledge to teach you from wherever you are and progress from there.  Oh, let me say this, I am a few weeks away from turning 85!
