STRENGTH

I want you to use your food as fuel to your activities to be strong and capable in your movements throughout the day, to feel energized, not depleted, or lethargic.

BALANCE

We look at the whole person, what you need to fuel YOUR body to make you feel strong and confident. Say goodbye to being that person that feels guilty for their food choices, and have a positive relationship with food

NUTRITION

The disease states of diabetes, cardiovascular disease, Alzheimer's, dementia, and cancer start as early as your 30's due to poor food choices as well as decreased activity. With simple, and I didn’t say easy, changes to diet (and diet doesn’t mean starvation) you can fuel your body to enjoy your life as you age and have the cognitive function to go along with it!

WHAT IS NUTRITION?

For me, nutrition is all about what we eat and how it truly fuels our bodies—way beyond that old “eat less, exercise more" mantra many women in their 50's grew up with. At Anchor to Life, I believe food isn’t just about surviving; it’s about thriving! Nutrition means finding foods that satisfy hunger, energize us, and support our well-being. It’s a holistic approach that looks at how food impacts our sleep, mood, and long-term health.  Pair nutrition with movement and we have the empowering formula we need to feel our best every day.

Good nutrition is essential to preventing issues like diabetes and heart disease, keeping us mobile, and helping us stay sharp. I know firsthand that food can sometimes feel like something we have to restrict, but to me, it’s a cornerstone of a lifestyle that’s sustainable and enjoyable. Nutrition isn’t about guilt or deprivation; it’s about finding a balance where we can enjoy our meals while building strength, boosting energy, and embracing a vibrant, healthy life. I want you to be thriving, not just surviving—so let’s create habits that support a joyful, active future.

Step 1

Nourish, Don't Deprive

Instead of focusing on restriction, choose foods that nourish and energize you. Opt for nutrient-rich meals that support vitality and longevity. Nutrition is about thriving, not just surviving!

Step 2

Fuel Your Movement and Mobility

Food is your body’s fuel for strength, endurance, and mobility. Eating a balanced diet helps you stay strong and flexible, supporting not only Pilates but also daily activities. Think of each meal as an investment in the energy you’ll bring to movement.

Step 3

Tune Into Your Body’s Signals

Pay attention to how different foods impact your energy, sleep, and mood. Keeping a journal can help you identify foods that make you feel energized and alert. This self-awareness connects back to Pilates, where tuning into your body’s signals is key to achieving balance, flexibility, and ease in movement.

Step 4

Prioritize Strength, Balance, and Mobility

True health includes a combination of good nutrition and regular movement that builds strength, balance, and mobility. Adding Pilates to your routine supports joint health, muscle tone, and flexibility, empowering you to move confidently and prevent injuries as you age.

Step 5

Create a Sustainable Lifestyle

Nutrition and mobility should enhance your life, not restrict it. Rather than following diets or strict rules, create a balanced approach that incorporates both nourishing foods and enjoyable movement. Embrace habits that keep you feeling empowered, energized, and ready to live life fully and actively.
